I am interested in starting a business of some sort. My interests vary so much I am willing to try about anything. I live in a rural area of Pennsylvania and the towns main focus is the college. Anyone have good ideas for a small business that may target college age people? The town is also only about 5 minutes off interstate 80. I prefer a low start up cost. I’d be willing to pay more if it was for a franchise of some sort. I looked into Starbucks, but the corporation does not sell franchises, they personally own all Starbucks. We have McD’s, BK, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, KFC, Long John Silver’s, A & W, so we have a lot of major food shops in town. Any ideas would be appreciated. I already have some ideas, but would like to hear input from others.

I find that one of the most challenging things to starting a business is coming up with an idea with the kind of business you want to have. This is not easy for me.

What are some things/ideas/places you could recommend to me for starting a business? One of my friends tells me to identify a local need within your community and do some research on it and go from there? What are your thoughts about starting an online business? Can I have a business that has 0% investment or do I have to initially put some money in?

Ideas/thoughts/insight on how I can come up with ideas for a small business would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone in advance for your shared knowledge.
